President's New Year Letter
To Local Stakeholders, Sheffield Shareholders, Employees and Contractors:
With 2007 coming to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our shareholders for their support during the year as well as our employees, contractors and their employees in both California and British Columbia for their hard work and dedication to the Company. Also, I would like to wish everyone a very successful 2008 and trust you all had a wonderful Christmas.
2007 has been a busy year for Sheffield, particularly on our Moonlight Copper Project in Plumas County, California, where we were able to complete some very successful field and drill programs. I say successful, as I am very pleased with amongst other impressive results we received from the Engels Mine prospect at the Moonlight Project; 54m of 2.95%Cu; 37.8m of 3.72%Cu; 81.6mof 1.67%Cu and 44.8m of 2.38%Cu. The areas mineralized at Engels continue to expand beyond our geologist’s initial expectations.
For a full list of the results to date I would urge you all to check out our website: www.sheffieldresources.com and to continue checking that website as we have really only received about 50% of the results so far from the 31 hole Engels Mine drill program and none of the assays from the first 15 reverse circulation drill holes at the Moonlight Deposit. When complete in early 2008, this information will be used to prepare an initial NI 43-101 oxide copper resource for the Engels Mine deposit
Samples from both drill programs will be used for metallurgical research over the winter. Environmental baseline sampling continues to demonstrate the benign character of the Moonlight deposits with regards to potential for acid rock drainage or heavy metal loading of surface waters. Ausenco, an independent engineering firm is investigating certain engineering aspects of Sheffield’s oxide copper project. Sheffield continues to work towards initiation of feasibility studies in mid to late 2008.
While we had successful field programs on our BC property, the Golden Loon Project, I have to say I am somewhat disappointed not to be able to report to you that we have successfully completed our planned drill program as of the time of writing. I can only advise that permitting of our proposed drill program was caught up in government bureaucracy until the onset of winter weather conditions. This is in bold contrast to our Moonlight Copper Project in California where in preparation for our initial drill program in 2005, Sheffield was able to obtain all necessary permitting in just 51 days. That being said, we will be able to get an early start in 2008 on our Golden Loon Project as we now have the requisite drill permit.
Once again, thank you for all your support and I would like to wish each of you a very successful 2008.
Sincerely,
”Dave Jenkins”
President.
